Laser Pain Management

No pet owner ever wants to see their fur pet in pain. Pain can lead to loss of appetite, resistance to exercise and play, and isolation. At Valley Animal Rehabilitation in Montclair, NJ, our veterinary team of caring professionals are here to help relieve your pet’s pain.

Laser Pain Management

We provide you both with a comfortable and friendly environment that includes therapy pools, underwater treadmills, and physical therapy specialists. Whether it's the result of surgery, sudden trauma, arthritis, cancer, or another source of pain. We use a variety of therapies to help get your pet back to normal and one treatment we may use is laser therapy.

How Is Laser Therapy Used in Managing Pets' Pain?

Laser therapy is a passive treatment where the pet doesn't need to do anything during the session which lasts approximately 20 minutes (depending on the condition). It may be used as a stand-alone treatment or in conjunction with medication, acupuncture, or physical therapy.

Laser rays penetrate through the skin and can help with tissue repair, wound recovery, and cell growth. It may also help reduce pain from inflammation due to joint injury, reduce scar tissue, and increase circulation.

Is Laser Pain Treatment Painful?

Laser therapy is non-invasive and should not cause much pain to your pet. In fact, many animals find it quite relaxing and some have even been known to fall asleep during the session. Rare side effects may include discoloration of the skin or a slight feeling of warmth around the area that typically goes away the same day.

Don’t let your pet suffer from chronic pain when we are here to help him get the relief he may need to enjoy life again. Contact us for laser pain management and other pain relief care from a veterinarian near you.
